Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
